
Prof. Melor is a Professor of English Language Education and Innovative Pedagogies and currently, she is a Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
She received her first degree from University of Nevada-Reno USA, M.A from Arizona State University, USA and Ph.D from University of Bristol, UK as well as Post-grad Certificate of Gifted Education from University of New South Wales, Australia.
She is best known for establishing the integration of ICT in teaching and learning English as a Second Language research as well as Innovative Pedagogies. She contributed to developing the PERMATA pintar National Gifted Centre in Malaysia in 2009 and was appointed as the first Deputy Director of the centre. She is the first recipient of the National Higher Education e-Learning award (2014) for her contributions in Creativity (Blended Learning, Flipped Learning, and Problem-Based Learning). She is also in the Top 3 Cited Malaysian Researcher List in 2014 MRUN Report. She won UKM Best Teaching Award (Bitara Pendidik) in 2016. She was conferred upon the award of Distinguished Woman in Social Science 2017 for her contribution and achievement in the field of Teaching and Learning Innovation by Venus International Foundation.
She was awarded the Most Active Innovator in International Invention & Innovative Competition Award (2018). The recipient of more than 200 innovation awards, she is highly regarded among her peers in her field. She also received UKM MyRA Awards for Overall Outstanding Individual in Social Science in 2019 and Outstanding Individual in Publication for 2 years (2019 & 2020). She is active in scholarly journal writing and publishing and has currently published more than 200 papers in SCOPUS with almost 2000 citations and H-index 18. Her publications are on the integration of ICT in teaching and learning English as a Second Language, Innovative Pedagogies, Technology-enhanced Language Learning (TELL) and Computer-assisted Language Learning (CALL).
